Jobtech Alliance is an ecosystem-building initiative based in Nairobi, Kenya, that supports inclusive jobtech platforms across East and West Africa, connecting startups, investors, and policymakers to create work opportunities for young people, particularly low-skilled and marginalized workers. The alliance announced its inaugural cohort of ten inclusive jobtech platforms in April 2022, with four joining the Catalyst Jobtech Accelerator and six participating in the Jobtech Innovation Lab. Steered by nonprofit Mercy Corps and social enterprise BFA Global, the alliance provides funding and support mechanisms to its portfolio companies, which focus on employment solutions for workers on the margins of the formal economy. These ventures include Nigerian e-commerce platform Bumpa, Kenyan e-commerce platform Flowcart, and job-matching platform Apna, led by former Apple executive Nirmit Parikh. Jobtech Alliance was launched in October 2022.
