JMDC

JMDC, based in Tokyo, Japan, collects and analyzes health insurance claims data and medical examination results from Japanese health insurance societies to support PDCA cycles in health services. It provides data analysis services to insurers for cost management and risk identification, offering anonymized big data sets covering over 10 million people to pharmaceutical companies, research institutions, and other insurers. Its database includes claims data from January 2005. JMDC also operates the Pep Up platform for individual health promotion, which has issued more than 5 million IDs. The organization expanded its operations through the 2019 acquisition of Medical Image Communications Limited via its subsidiary Doctor-NET Inc. and a merger with Clintal Inc. JMDC was founded in 2002; its founders are not publicly known.
