iSME

iSME is an independent business association based in Dublin, Ireland, representing Irish small and medium enterprises (SMEs) by providing advice, HR services, business information, and support to its members, while actively lobbying on key issues such as payments, loans, and broader policy. Operating on a membership-based model, the organization reported 215 member companies in 1994, serving as a collective voice for small business owners across various sectors. Its current leadership includes CEO Neil McDonnell, active as of 2026, and Chair Finbarr Filan, who was elected at the AGM in May 2025. Former CEO Mark Fielding stepped down around 2016, having previously guided the association's advocacy efforts on behalf of its diverse membership. iSME was established on November 14, 1993; its founders are not publicly known.
