Invoke Capital

Invoke Capital is a venture capital firm based in Cambridge, UK, with an office in California, specializing in investments in artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies, particularly European deep tech and university spinouts. The firm raised approximately $1 billion for its debut fund by 2013 and holds shares in portfolio companies valued at nearly £200 million as of 2023. Invoke provides capital and operational support, handling sales, marketing, and customer support to commercialize UK university research and deep tech. Notable investments include cybersecurity firm Darktrace, which grew to over $500 million in valuation within two years and now employs over 1,500 people; legal technology provider Luminance; fraud detection specialist Featurespace; and medical data analytics company Sophia Genetics. Pete Menell, former CTO of Autonomy, leads the firm's in-house R&D division. The firm was founded in 2012 by Mike Lynch.
