Intelligent Systems Corporation, based in Norcross, Georgia, United States, initially operated as a technology company manufacturing video terminals, portable computers, expansion cards, and peripherals through various subsidiaries. In this early phase, the company expanded its portfolio by acquiring Quadram Corporation for $35 million in stock in 1983 and Peachtree Software for approximately $1 million in 1985. During the 1990s, Intelligent Systems Corporation strategically pivoted its business model to provide venture capital for emerging technology firms. After a restructuring in 1987 as Intelligent Systems Master Limited Partnership, the entity later reverted to Intelligent Systems Corporation, maintaining its focus on tech investments. The organization subsequently rebranded to CoreCard Corporation before 2021, concentrating on financial technology solutions.
