IU Ventures is a nonprofit affiliate of Indiana University based in Bloomington, Indiana, that invests in and supports early-stage companies affiliated with IU students, faculty, staff, and alumni. It fosters innovation and entrepreneurship through key programs such as the IU Founders & Funders Network, IU Philanthropic Venture Fund, IU Angel Network, and Innovate Indiana Fund. In 2020, the organization made new and follow-on investments in 15 Indiana-based companies, establishing itself as one of the top three most active funds in the state. IU Ventures was awarded 2021 Investor of the Year by TechPoint’s Mira Awards for its commitment to investing in diverse startups and hosts an annual Venture Summit to connect IU-affiliated entrepreneurs and investors. The organization evolved from the Advanced Research and Technology Institute (ARTI), established by Indiana University in 1997.
