IDH, based in Utrecht, Netherlands, convenes public-private partnerships to design, co-fund, and prototype sustainable production and trade approaches across various commodity sectors. The organization drives green and inclusive growth, focusing on issues like deforestation, living incomes, and working conditions. IDH engages over 1,000 partners, including companies, CSOs, and governments, in more than 50 countries, and employs over 300 staff across 15+ countries. Its initiatives are funded by European governments such as BUZA, SECO, and DANIDA, alongside private foundations like Laudes Foundation, and business partners. Historically, IDH has managed approximately 600 projects in 11 sectors, including cocoa, coffee, and palm oil, and in 2019, planned the launch of its Farmfit Fund with €100 million in junior debt and a €500 million senior debt guarantee. IDH was officially established in 2008, building on foundations laid in the 2007 Schokland Agreements.
