Iberdrola

Iberdrola is a multinational electric utility company based in Bilbao, Spain, focused on generating, distributing, and supplying electricity, with a strong emphasis on renewable energy sources like wind and solar, smart grids, and electric mobility. Operating in nearly 40 countries across Europe, the US, Brazil, and Australia, the company supplies over 100 million people globally and leads the transition to a low-carbon economy. With approximately 40,000 employees, Iberdrola manages more than 32,000 MW of renewable capacity and reported net revenues exceeding $40 billion in 2019. Under the leadership of Chairman and CEO Ignacio Galán, the organization includes key subsidiaries such as Avangrid in the US and ScottishPower in the UK. Iberdrola was formed in 1992 through a merger, building on the legacy of its predecessor, Hidroeléctrica Ibérica, founded in 1901 by Juan Urrutia Zulueta.
