Hradfrystihusid-Gunnvor

Hradfrystihusid-Gunnvor is an Icelandic fish processing company based in Hnífsdalur, operating two trawlers and a fishmeal plant in Súðavík. It specializes in processing and exporting frozen fish, including approximately 1100 tons of Icelandic cod annually, along with fishmeal and salmon products. The company employs around 20 individuals and owns subsidiary Háafell ehf, which manages a salmon farm in Ísafjarðardjúpi. Einar Valur Kristjansson serves as the current CEO, and Hradfrystihusid-Gunnvor notably invested in the tissue-regeneration company Kerecis in 2014. The quick freezing plant was initially established on January 19, 1941, by fishermen and citizens of Hnífsdalur, with the current entity resulting from mergers including Gunnvör Ltd., formed October 7, 1955, by Johann Juliusson, Thordur Juliusson, and Jon B. Jonsson.
