Hong Kong Investment Corporation (HKIC), based in Central, Hong Kong, serves as the Hong Kong government's investment arm, making strategic investments to foster economic development and competitiveness by shepherding startups toward IPO. The organization manages HK$62 billion (approximately US$8 billion) across multiple funds targeting growth opportunities, Greater Bay Area expansion, and strategic technology sectors. In 2024, HKIC generated HK$2.34 billion in investment income, with an internal rate of return reaching double digits, and every HK$1 invested attracting over HK$8 in follow-on co-investment. Key partners include Gobi Partners, Lanchi Ventures, and Gaw Capital, while its first portfolio company, Smartmore Corporation, recently filed for a Hong Kong IPO. Led by Chief Executive Officer Clara Chan Ka Chai, HKIC was established in 2022 by the Hong Kong SAR Government.
