Key people at Goldcorp.
Officially incorporated in 1994, Goldcorp was a gold production company based in Vancouver, engaged in the exploration, extraction, processing, and reclamation of precious metals. Operating mines across North and South America, the enterprise employed approximately 15,800 people worldwide and ranked as the fourth largest global gold producer by the third quarter of 2014. The corporation generated the vast majority of its revenue through gold sales, which accounted for $2.86 billion and 2.873 million produced ounces in 2016, alongside additional silver, zinc, and lead output. Prior to its consolidation, the firm streamlined its portfolio in January 2017 by divesting secondary assets, including the Cerro Blanco Gold Project and the Los Filos Mine. The business ultimately merged with Newmont Mining Corporation on April 18, 2019, through a $10 billion stock transaction, concluding its independent operations in the global mining sector.
