Operating on a collaborative co-funding investment model, the organization secures government and partner capital to advance the regional life sciences sector and integrate ethical genomics applications into broader society. To date, the entity has generated over $1.1 billion in total investments across more than 425 research projects while successfully attracting $850 million in external co-funding from a network of institutional partners. This extensive capital deployment has directly advanced 102 regional companies, enabled the creation of over 32,000 jobs, and supported strategic initiatives managed by key organizational leaders including Pascal Spothelfer, Suzanne Gill, and Alan E. Winter. Genome BC was officially founded in the year 2000.
