gener8tor 1889 is a seed fund and accelerator network based in Fargo and Grand Forks, North Dakota, that invests in and supports early-stage startups across various industry sectors. The initiative provides $100,000 equity investments to participating companies through its flagship accelerator program, while also operating non-equity pre-accelerators to develop local entrepreneurial talent. The organization plans to invest in at least five startups annually over a five-year period, leveraging the extensive resources of its parent company. This parent entity has previously backed more than 180 companies that subsequently raised over $1 billion in total follow-on venture funding. The regional fund is supported through strategic financial partnerships with institutional backers including 50 South Capital Advisors and the North Dakota Growth Fund. gener8tor 1889 was officially launched in 2022 by parent organization gener8tor and its co-founder Jon Eckhardt.
