Based in Utrecht, Netherlands, GenDx develops, produces, and sells molecular diagnostic kits, reagents, and specialized analysis software for human leukocyte antigen typing and transplantation monitoring. The enterprise supplies both Sanger and next-generation sequencing strategies to clinical laboratories worldwide, operating with a historical workforce of approximately 40 employees across its various international diagnostic divisions. Following a strategic growth equity investment from private equity firm Ampersand Capital Partners in May 2019, the diagnostic provider was subsequently acquired by French diagnostics group Eurobio Scientific in October 2022. In addition to its primary European operations, the organization maintains a dedicated commercial office in Chicago to support its North American customer base across the molecular and companion diagnostics end markets. GenDx was originally founded in 2005 by researchers Erik Rozemuller and Wietse Mulder, operating in formal partnership with UMC Utrecht Holdings B.V.
