Gather Ventures is a venture capital firm based in Nairobi, Kenya, that invests in early-stage companies focused on human health, planetary sustainability, and climate solutions. Operating as a subsidiary of the Clara Lionel Foundation, the firm utilizes a high-touch operational partnership model backed by a management team with over 40 years of combined operational and investment experience. The organization launched its initial Fund I investment vehicle focused on plant-based businesses before expanding its strategy with a second fund in 2021 targeting gender and climate challenges across the African continent. This subsequent fund attracted capital commitments from notable technology and entertainment figures including Jack Dorsey and Robyn Rihanna Fenty. Gather Ventures was founded in 2020 by Adam Slutsky, the former chief operating officer of Moviefone and chief executive officer of Mimeo.com, alongside partner Daniel Maffezzoli.
