Gaia Impact Fund

Gaia Impact Fund is a Paris, France-based venture capital firm that invests in early-stage startups and small-to-medium enterprises providing decentralized renewable energy access across off-grid areas. The firm focuses its investments on the clean energy value chain throughout Sub-Saharan Africa and South-East Asia. In March 2023, the organization launched its second investment vehicle, Gaia Energy Impact Fund II, targeting an initial closing of €40 million and a final closing of €80 million by mid-2024. Over the lifetime of this fund, the firm aims to facilitate energy access for 4 million people, support 20,000 jobs, and generate 4 million tonnes of carbon dioxide savings. The firm raises capital from institutional investors, partnering with notable entities such as Schneider Electric, Capelan, Capital Croissance, and Investisseurs & Partenaires. Gaia Impact Fund was founded in 2016 by Hélène Demaegdt.
