Future Meat Technologies, later rebranded as Believer Meats, is a Rehovot, Israel-based food technology enterprise that develops cultivated meat products directly from animal cells without requiring animal slaughter or genetic modifications. The organization focused on scaling alternative protein production, constructing a commercial manufacturing facility in North Carolina designed to produce 12,000 metric tons of cultivated chicken annually. Before ultimately ceasing operations due to capital constraints, the firm secured significant financial backing from corporate investors including ADM Ventures and Tyson Foods. This financial support featured a $347 million Series B funding round in 2021 that temporarily pushed the corporate valuation to $600 million. Despite these manufacturing milestones and regulatory preparations, the business failed to achieve commercial sales before its funds depleted. Future Meat Technologies was originally incorporated in 2018 by founder and chief science officer Yaakov Nahmias.
