FHI 360

FHI 360 is a global nonprofit development organization mobilizing research, resources, and relationships to address critical challenges. It delivers data-driven solutions expanding economic opportunity, improving health and well-being, and enhancing humanitarian response capabilities. The organization’s technical approach integrates scientific advancements and community collaboration across over 50 countries.

The organization began in 1971 as Family Health International (FHI), stemming from research at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Its founding insight focused on empowering individuals with informed decisions regarding sexual and reproductive health. This mission expanded, leading to a 2011 merger with the Academy for Educational Development (AED) to establish FHI 360.

FHI 360 partners with local communities, governments, and institutional stakeholders worldwide. Its vision centers on ensuring people everywhere access opportunities to lead full, healthy lives.
