Founded in 1994, Eurowatt is an independent power producer operating as a wholly owned corporate subsidiary of Virya Energy, an entity originally established by the Colruyt Group and Korys. The organization specializes in developing, financing, constructing, and operating renewable energy assets, primarily focusing on onshore wind farms in France, Poland, and Portugal, alongside specialized mini-hydropower facilities in Portugal and Spain. As of 2024, the company manages approximately 500 megawatts of installed generation capacity and maintains an active development pipeline exceeding 1.5 gigawatts across various European energy markets. To support its ongoing expansion, the business recently secured up to PLN 126.1 million in project financing from the EBRD and PKO Bank Polski. This strategic funding specifically supports the new construction of the Grabkowo wind farm and the ongoing daily operations of the Orla wind farm located in Poland.
