Enda

Enda is a Nairobi, Kenya-based athletic footwear company that manufactures and distributes high-performance running shoes for professional and recreational athletes globally. The organization designs and produces its sportswear locally at its Kilifi production facility, incorporating traditional Kenyan cultural elements and community names into its direct-to-consumer product lines. The company initially launched its first shoe model, the Iten, through an introductory crowdfunding campaign on the Kickstarter platform that attracted over 1,000 individual backers and generated more than $120,000 in early capital. Enda subsequently expanded its manufacturing operations and global distribution capabilities, which included the release of the Lapatet shoe series, after securing $1.1 million in Series A venture capital funding led by Talanton. Currently operating with a corporate workforce of over 100 employees, the enterprise was officially founded in 2016 by co-founders Navalayo Osembo and Weldon Kennedy.
