Drivemode

Drivemode is a Redwood City, California-based automotive software company that develops mobile-connected vehicle platforms, voice-enabled applications, gesture controls, and simplified infotainment systems to minimize driver distraction. Prior to its strategic acquisition, the enterprise raised $9.2 million in venture funding and successfully scaled its consumer-facing mobile application to achieve over 2.5 million downloads across 150 countries. The startup received early financial backing from prominent corporate investors including Panasonic and NEC Capital Solutions before being fully acquired by Honda in 2019. Operating today as a wholly-owned subsidiary with a workforce of 11 to 50 employees, the firm now focuses on developing integrated software platforms and connected mobility technologies specifically for Honda's electric motorcycles and consumer vehicles. Drivemode was founded in 2014 by chief executive officer Yo Koga alongside other automotive technology entrepreneurs with professional backgrounds at Zipcar and Tesla Motors.
