Doubtnut is a Gurugram, India-based educational technology platform that provides instant video solutions for student questions in subjects like mathematics, physics, and chemistry. Operating on a freemium model, the service allows K-12 and exam preparation students to upload images of their academic queries via a mobile application or WhatsApp to receive matched, pre-recorded explanatory videos. The platform has achieved significant scale, reaching over 13 million monthly active users by early 2020, with more than 85 percent of its user base located outside of India's top ten major cities. To support its expansion and regional language capabilities, the company secured a $15 million Series A venture funding round in 2020 led by Tencent, following earlier investments from Sequoia India Surge, Omidyar Network, and Waterbridge Ventures.
