Crater.Club operates as a seasonal residential enclave and member-led recreational summer retreat based in Essex, New York. Operating under a non-profit business model, the organization spans approximately 150 acres within the Adirondack Park region, comprising 67 collectively owned acres for common facilities alongside 44 privately owned homes. Voting members pay annual dues to maintain and utilize shared community amenities, which include a central clubhouse, playing fields, four clay tennis courts, and a waterfront area equipped with a swim dock. The club facilitates outdoor activities and community events for families, professionals, and academics seeking seasonal nature exposure. The club's historical documentation and recent leadership directories feature notable individuals associated with its operations, including former president Sarah Bayne, treasurer Charles Cammack IV, and centennial historian Morris Glenn. The organization was founded in 1899 by John Bird Burnham.
