Ceramic Network is a decentralized data network based in the United States and developed by 3Box Labs that enables composable, verifiable, and mutable data streams for Web3 applications. The protocol integrates underlying technologies such as IPFS, libp2p, blockchain architecture, and decentralized identifiers to allow software developers to build serverless platforms without traditional centralized data silos. It provides dynamic information management infrastructure for decentralized applications operating across decentralized finance, non-fungible tokens, storage networks, and digital identity sectors. Following its official mainnet launch in June 2021, the core development team secured a Series A venture capital funding round in February 2022 from prominent institutional investors including Union Square Ventures and Multicoin Capital. The underlying open-source technology and its parent development firm were originally founded in 2018 by co-founders Michael Sena, Danny Zuckerman, and Joel Thorstensson.
