CDRD

The Centre for Drug Research and Development (CDRD) is a national not-for-profit organization accelerating novel health technology commercialization. It de-risks and validates scientific discoveries from Canadian universities and hospitals, preparing them for private investment. CDRD provides drug development infrastructure, supporting innovations from target validation to preclinical stages, creating new therapeutic solutions.

Founded in Vancouver in 2007, CDRD addressed the challenge of translating promising academic research into viable drug development, often hampered by limited early-stage capital. Its creation was supported by the Government of Canada's Networks of Centres of Excellence program. CDRD thus bridges this gap, advancing academic innovations towards commercialization.
