Food discovery platform helping consumers find dining experiences and restaurant recommendations through authentic community reviews.
Burpple is a Singapore-based food discovery platform that provides restaurant recommendations and dining reviews through a community-driven social journal. The consumer application enables individuals to validate dining options using authentic customer feedback, successfully scaling to serve approximately 5.5 million users while accumulating over 3 million local restaurant reviews. Originally launched as a photo-sharing tool for capturing meals, the technology company expanded its coverage to include dining establishments across more than 115 countries, maintaining a primary operational focus on Southeast Asian markets such as Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines. To support its initial software development and regional market penetration, the enterprise secured US$500,000 in seed funding from early-stage venture capital firms including Neoteny Labs and QuestVC. Burpple was officially founded in May 2012 by the entrepreneurial team of Dixon Chan, Elisha Ong, and Daniel Hum.
