Bud is a Singapore-based 3D social network and metaverse platform that enables users to build and share customizable virtual experiences using accessible drag-and-drop tools. Following its public launch in November 2021, the mobile application quickly reached the top ten social rankings on the Android platform across multiple countries, including the highly competitive U.S. market. The consumer-focused platform allows individuals to interact through customizable avatars in virtual worlds reminiscent of Nintendo's Animal Crossing, requiring no prior technical or coding skills to operate. To support its rapid three-digit month-over-month global user growth, the enterprise secured $15 million in Series A+ funding in February 2022. Operating with an initial team of 100 employees and active plans to expand to 200 personnel by the end of the year, Bud was founded in 2019 by former Snap engineers Shawn Lin and Risa Feng.
