BRF S.A. is a publicly traded food production company based in São Paulo, Brazil, that specializes in manufacturing poultry, pork, and processed meat products. The agribusiness operates a vertically integrated supply chain, managing prominent consumer brands like Sadia and Perdigão while exporting its protein products to customers across more than 117 countries. The corporation was formally established through a 2009 merger of legacy businesses originally founded in 1934 and 1944 by Basílio Brandalise, Geraldo Brandalise, and Attilio Fontana. Generating pro forma annual revenues of approximately 36 billion Brazilian reais following its initial consolidation, the firm also secured institutional backing from major investors including Mubadala. In recent years, the company expanded its global portfolio by investing in cultured meat research with Aleph Farms and completing a 2025 merger with Marfrig to form MBRF Global Foods Company.
