Software platform virtualizing and pooling compute resources for elastic, efficient AI infrastructure management.
Based in Austin, Texas, Bitfusion develops software that virtualizes and pools compute resources, including GPUs, CPUs, and FPGAs, across data centers to optimize artificial intelligence infrastructure. The enterprise software-as-a-service platform allows developers to access elastic compute power for building complex AI applications much more economically on distributed cloud platforms. Operating with a team of fewer than 20 employees, the startup secured angel and Series A financing to expand its core operations before being acquired by VMware. The company's virtualization technology integrates with major cloud infrastructure providers, enabling enterprise customers to deploy optimized machine learning workloads directly through hosting services like AWS. Following the corporate acquisition, former chief executive officer Subbu Rama successfully launched a new identity security startup called BalkanID. Bitfusion was originally founded in January 2015 by Subbu Rama, Mazhar Memon, and Maciej Bajkowski.
