BigStory VC is a founder-led venture capital firm with a focused mission: to back exceptional Armenian founders building high-impact, global technology companies. The firm targets early-stage startups—primarily at the pre-seed and seed stages—with checks ranging from $100K to $400K, and is comfortable both leading and following rounds. BigStory emphasizes speed, operational support, and deep founder empathy, positioning itself as a “SWAT team” for founders navigating the challenges of scaling globally, especially into the U.S. and European markets.
The firm invests across sectors but shows a clear appetite for AI, big data, and business solutions, backing startups that combine strong technical teams with unique ideas and global ambitions. By leveraging the founders’ own experience scaling companies like Krisp and PicsArt, BigStory VC brings not just capital but hands-on operational guidance and access to a curated network of global VCs and industry experts. Its presence strengthens the Armenian tech ecosystem by connecting local talent with international growth opportunities.
BigStory VC was founded in 2021 by a tight-knit group of successful Armenian tech entrepreneurs who had firsthand experience building and scaling startups from Armenia to global markets. The core team includes Davit Baghdasaryan (Co-Founder & CEO of Krisp, ex-Twilio), Arto Minasyan (Co-Founder & President of Krisp, founder of 10Web), and Arto Yeritsyan (CEO of Podcastle, former VPE at PicsArt). Having navigated the unique challenges of launching and scaling startups from Armenia—limited local capital, talent constraints, and the need to quickly gain traction abroad—they created BigStory VC to be the kind of partner they wished they’d had earlier.
The firm emerged from a shared belief that Armenian founders are capable of building world-class companies, but often lack early-stage support that combines capital, speed, and deep operational insight. BigStory’s founding was less about creating another generic fund and more about institutionalizing a founder-first, execution-oriented approach tailored to the realities of startups from emerging ecosystems. Since launch, it has built a small but strategic portfolio, including companies like Synthflow AI, and has increasingly become a go-to early backer for ambitious Armenian-founded startups targeting global markets.
BigStory VC is riding two powerful trends: the globalization of startup talent and the rise of AI-native infrastructure. As remote work, distributed teams, and cloud-based tools level the playing field, founders from emerging ecosystems like Armenia are increasingly able to build and scale global companies without relocating. BigStory is positioned at the intersection of this shift, acting as a catalyst for Armenian tech talent to compete on the world stage.
At the same time, the firm’s focus on AI, big data, and business solutions aligns with the current wave of AI-driven transformation across industries. By backing early-stage AI startups like Synthflow AI, BigStory is not just supporting individual companies but helping shape the next generation of AI-powered tools and platforms. Its model also reflects a broader trend in venture capital: the rise of micro-funds and founder-led funds that prioritize speed, founder alignment, and operational value over sheer capital size.
In the Armenian tech ecosystem, BigStory VC plays a critical role in closing the early-stage funding gap. It helps retain top talent in Armenia by showing that world-class startups can be built and funded from the region, while also connecting them to global networks. This strengthens the ecosystem’s credibility and attracts more international attention and capital over time.
BigStory VC is well-positioned to become a defining early-stage partner for Armenian founders with global ambitions. As the Armenian tech ecosystem continues to mature—with more successful exits, a growing talent pool, and increasing international interest—BigStory’s founder-led, operator-heavy model will likely become even more valuable. The firm’s ability to move fast, provide real operational help, and open doors to global networks gives it a strong edge in a competitive early-stage landscape.
Looking ahead, BigStory is likely to deepen its focus on AI and infrastructure, while potentially expanding its check sizes or launching a larger fund as its portfolio companies scale. It may also play a more active role in ecosystem-building—mentoring new angel investors, supporting founder communities, and helping more Armenian startups cross the threshold into Series A and beyond.
In a world where the next great company can come from anywhere, BigStory VC is proving that Armenian founders belong at the forefront. By backing them early, with both capital and conviction, the firm isn’t just investing in startups—it’s helping write the next big story of global tech.
