Between is a Seoul, South Korea-based private mobile application that provides a secure, closed-network platform for couples to communicate, share photo albums, track anniversaries, and manage their shared calendars. The platform operates on a freemium business model, generating its revenue through a premium subscription tier called Between Plus, in-app purchases for digital stickers, and targeted advertising. Since its initial release, the application has achieved significant global scale, accumulating well over 35 million total downloads across its international user base. Originally developed by the technology startup VCNC, the application was acquired by the mobility company Socar in 2018 before being sold again. In June 2021, the relationship technology platform was acquired by Thingsflow, a content platform subsidiary of the South Korean gaming conglomerate Krafton. Between was originally founded in 2011 by software entrepreneur Jaeuk Park.
