Bertelsmann Investments is the corporate venture capital arm of the German media corporation Bertelsmann, based in Gütersloh, Germany, investing in startups and venture funds across various growth stages. The firm focuses on identifying digital business models and emerging technologies worldwide through regional funds like Bertelsmann Asia Investments, Bertelsmann India Investments, and the Bertelsmann Next initiative. Since its inception, the organization has invested over €1.7 billion into the venture ecosystem, maintaining a global network of more than 400 portfolio companies and over 300 active investments. The firm's diverse portfolio features prominent technology and financial companies, including Stori, Eruditus, Shiprocket, and Afya. The firm deployed approximately €100 million across 42 new and follow-on investments throughout 2023. Bertelsmann Investments was officially established in 2016 to consolidate the global investment activities of the parent company originally founded by Carl Bertelsmann.
