Chicago-based Attune Medical develops and manufactures proprietary single-use medical devices designed to control a patient's core body temperature through the esophagus. The company's primary product, the EnsoETM, is utilized by hospitals and critical care units to safely warm or cool patients during complex surgical procedures and electrophysiology interventions. In September 2023, the enterprise secured FDA De Novo clearance for the device to reduce esophageal injury risks during radiofrequency cardiac ablation. Following approximately $22 million in revenue generated during the 2023 calendar year under CEO Keith Warner, the business was acquired by medical technology firm Haemonetics in March 2024. The acquisition transaction involved an upfront cash payment of $160 million, plus up to $13 million in contingent milestone payments. Originally operating as Advanced Cooling Therapy, the company was founded in 2009 by Dr. Erik Kulstad.
