Founded in 2006 by Don Wolf and Scott Campbell, ARC Clean Energy is headquartered in Saint John, New Brunswick, and Washington DC, developing advanced small modular reactors for clean electricity. The flagship product is the ARC-100, a 100 megawatt sodium cooled fast reactor based on proven technology originally created at the Argonne National Laboratory. To support commercialization, the enterprise secured thirty million dollars in Series A private funding in 2021 alongside a twenty million dollar conditional grant from the Government of New Brunswick. The organization recently submitted Phase Two of its Vendor Design Review to the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission and partnered with Invest Alberta to explore industrial emissions reduction. Led by CEO William Labbe, the firm is collaborating with utility NB Power to deploy a commercial demonstration unit at the Point Lepreau Nuclear Generating Station.
