Animated Dynamics: Biotech company develops biodynamic imaging technology for live-tissue imaging, enabling cancer tissue assessment and drug screening.
Animated Dynamics is a West Lafayette, Indiana-based biotechnology company that develops biodynamic imaging platform technologies to measure intracellular motion in living tissue samples using three-dimensional light scattering. The organization creates specialized imaging modules for inverted microscopes that enable researchers and oncologists to observe how living tumor biopsies respond to cancer drugs in real-time clinical settings. Operating with a team of fewer than 25 employees, the enterprise has secured financial backing from private equity firm Caravel Ventures and federal agencies including the National Science Foundation. The startup previously received a $2 million research grant from the National Cancer Institute to support clinical trials predicting chemotherapy efficacy in breast, ovarian, and esophageal cancer patients. Spun out of research conducted at Purdue University, Animated Dynamics was founded in 2012 by David Nolte, John Turek, and Ran An.
