Anacail

Based in Glasgow, Scotland, Anacail develops ozone generation technology utilizing non-thermal plasma to sterilize and extend the shelf life of food products and medical devices inside sealed packaging. The company's proprietary system safely converts oxygen into ozone directly within existing packages, effectively eliminating the need for chemical additives or expensive packaging modifications. The organization was established in 2011 as a spin-out from the University of Glasgow by co-founders Hugh Potts and Declan Diver. To commercialize its systems, the enterprise secured significant early capital, including a £750,000 seed round in 2013, a £2 million Series A in April 2015, a £300,000 Innovate UK grant, and an additional £1.37 million later that same year. Today, Anacail is backed by notable institutional investors and venture capitalists, such as IP Group, Scottish Investment Bank, Sussex Place Ventures, and Illumina.
