Prior to its strategic acquisition, the startup scaled its operations to 55 employees and supported approximately 17,000 active grower users managing over 11 million acres of global farmland. After raising approximately $16.2 million in venture funding from backers including Maumee Ventures and Serra Ventures, the business was acquired by Nutrien for $63 million in a transaction completed in July 2018. Agrible was originally founded in 2012 by co-founders Chris Harbourt, Paul Miller, and Bill Northcott.
