Twelve Labs is a San Francisco, California-based artificial intelligence company that develops video-native foundation models designed to enable machines to search, summarize, and generate clips from extensive video archives. The cloud-based software-as-a-service platform currently supports thousands of developers and hundreds of enterprise customers across the media, entertainment, sports, and government sectors, while maintaining an additional corporate office in Seoul, South Korea. The enterprise has raised over $100 million in total venture capital funding from a syndicate of prominent corporate and institutional backers, including New Enterprise Associates, Index Ventures, Nvidia, Intel, and Samsung. Its technology is utilized by Hollywood studios, sports leagues, and security agencies to automate video intelligence workflows and manage large-scale media assets. Twelve Labs was founded in March 2021 by chief executive officer Jae Lee alongside four co-founders who previously served together in the South Korean Cyber Command.
