HomeServe is a multinational home emergency repairs and improvements business, providing emergency repair services and home insurance coverage to residential customers, and was acquired by Brookfield Asset Management for £4.08 billion in January 2023. Prior to this transaction, the company served over 8.5 million customers worldwide and was a FTSE 100 company, operating across the UK, US, Canada, France, Spain, Japan, and Germany. Founded in 1993 by Richard Harpin, who served as founder and former CEO, the company also saw Jeremy Middleton as a co-founder and Tommy Breen as a former chairman. The acquisition concluded Richard Harpin's 30-year tenure leading the Walsall, England-based company. Following the sale, Harpin launched Business Leader, a platform providing mentoring and peer learning for mid-sized companies.
